# Sales Navigator Company Search

**Cost:** `10` credits/search.

Search for companies using a LinkedIn Sales Navigator **company** search URL.

## Sales Navigator company search endpoint

This endpoint allows you to search for companies by providing a LinkedIn Sales Navigator company search URL. It is the account-level counterpart to [Sales Navigator Search](https://docs.datamagnet.co/api-reference/endpoints/salesnavigator-search), which returns people.

### Required attributes

**search\_url** `string` *required*

LinkedIn Sales Navigator company search URL. Example: `https://www.linkedin.com/sales/search/company?query=...`

Copy the URL straight from the browser. Two of the parameters these URLs carry need no attention from you:

* `sessionId` is optional. URLs copied from the browser do not always include one, and when it is missing a fresh token is generated for the search — you never need to supply or maintain one yourself.
* `savedSearchId` is stripped before the search runs, because it is specific to the account you used while creating lists/searches and won't be available when our systems search.

Only the `query` parameter determines what is searched.

> [!WARNING]
>
> **Use a company search URL, not a people one.** The URL path must be `/sales/search/company`. A `/sales/search/people` URL is rejected before the search runs — it costs nothing, and the `message` says so:
>
> ```json theme={null}
> {
>   "status": "error",
> "message": "search_url is a people search, but this endpoint runs company searches. Use /sales/search/company URL here.",
>   "credit_used": 0
> }
> ```
>
> Send people URLs to [Sales Navigator Search](https://docs.datamagnet.co/api-reference/endpoints/salesnavigator-search) instead.

> [!WARNING]
>
> **Copy the whole URL.** These URLs run to several thousand characters, and a truncated one is the most common cause of a failed search — it is easy to cut short when copying through a spreadsheet cell, a chat message, or a terminal.
>
> A `search_url` that is malformed or truncated is rejected before the search runs, so it costs nothing, and the `message` names the problem:
>
> ```json theme={null}
> {
>   "status": "error",
> "message": "search_url looks truncated: 5 unclosed brackets in the `query` parameter. Open the search in Sales Navigator and copy the whole URL from the address bar — these URLs run to several thousand characters and are easy to cut short.",
>   "credit_used": 0
> }
> ```

### Optional attributes

**page** `integer` (default: 1)

Page number for pagination. Minimum value is `1`. A page carries up to 25 companies; use `total` to work out how many pages the search has.
